Hey VR Heads!

Here is a quick video featuring the ugliest Star Trek hallway ever. XD The Rift dev kit is coming soon, so I wanted to make sure I had a Holodeck to walk into when it arrives. I used the UDK editor to build everything, but I think I will try using Blender to create some better art.

Excelsior,

  1. Are you excited that the Oculus Rift is coming soon? I’m interested to see if you’ll find ways to integrate the Razer Hydra with the Rift in games.

    • Hey hey! I am incredibly excited that the Rift dev kit is coming! I ordered first day of the KickStarter, around order 1600, so I should be in the first batch. I bought the Hydra specifically for Rift development. I think its the best readily available input solution for VR – that is until we have some cheap, low-latency, full-body motion capture device.

      • That’s good to hear! The Rift is being shipped sometime this week or next for first batches and Valve already has one of their games (TF2) completely ready for the Oculus Rift.

I’ve got a Hyrda that I got for cheap ($50) but I’m waiting for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift.

Can’t wait to see your Hydra/Rift articles!
